Awe is a complex emotion. It can be positive or negative and can arise from a wide range of stimuli. It's mind-bending and alters our relationship to time and how we perceive our world.
Dacher Keltner is a professor of psychology at University of California, Berkeley. There he did a 3 year study on awe concluded with a day-long course called "The Art & Science of Awe".
His findings include that “awe experiences are tied to our relationship to nature, art, and the goodness of other people.” It greatly increases happiness.
