Mondays are my liquid day.
It was only a week ago that I started to really look forward to it and I wanted to make some space for it on my blog today.
It's fair to say my healthy nutrition habits have accelerated in the last twelve months. Like my lemon water in the morning, I look forward to liquid day. My liquid day is not a juice day, but a day where my meals include alkaline-forming, nutrient-balanced liquid nutrition in the form of soups, smoothies (low sugar), and blended drinks.
These particular meals on Mondays retain the nutrients in skins, piths, and seeds, and fiber, and are an effective way for me to provide my body with quality nutrients with less digestive work. And I meet my daily protein minimum. Today I had 53g of protein from a smoothie and soups.
Liquid day is a great a way to give my stomach a break regardless. When I first started liquid day I had feelings of hunger, but those have ended up not a need for physical satiation, but rather psychologically or emotionally induced.
While I've done juice fasts/days in the past, I don't juice on my liquid days because while fresh juices do deliver carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals, they aren't a reliable source of amino acids (proteins), or healthy fats.
