A vision for my health and fitness

I'll be 40 in 18 days.

I am planning for my body to be in amazing condition by then and I'm not stopping there. I really worked hard on my health before, so the focus isn't new, but I'm taking it to a new level now.

My priority for the rest of my life is my health. I'm a "burn the boats, take the island kind" of person. This mean I'm committed to getting and staying in the best health of my life, for the rest of my life. I see my body as a temple so I plan to treat it that way. My health is  THE most important part of my life. I realized that achieving my vision is 90% mindset and 10% tactical.

As part of this process I created a numnber of affirmations to adopt in support the mindset I need.

Beliefs

  • My body is a temple. 90% of my health and fitness success is mental and 10% is action.
  • Of the action my meal plan + my exercise regimen is 90% of the game.
  • There is nothing more important in my life than health & fitness.
  • My body was designed to be well.
  • I am in control of my physical destiny.
  • I can control my biological age. My body is a temple.
  • It is a gift I have been given and I have a responsibility to take care of this gift.
  • My body is strong.
  • My body produces all of the energy I require.
  • My body loves me.
  • My body is powerful.
  • I am strong and get stronger each day.
  • The more energy I spend, the more I get.
  • I celebrate my body: my body is a celebration of my life.
  • I take energy from source and it powers my body.
  • My body was designed to support all my goals.
  • I effortlessly and easily maintain my perfect body of health each day.

Vision

A healthy health and fitness life are part of who I am as a person.

Like a worldclass athlete, I choose this.

I will learn more about health & fitness over the coming years.

I will live forever. I have a lean body. I am strong. I can keep up with anyone at any age. I am strong. I exercise daily with ease. I am always healthy, vibrant and full of energy. Friends and family always comment on how high energy I am. I am capable of all types of physical activity. My heart is highly efficient. I have excellent posture. I love to dance. People comment on how great I look. I manage my energy incredibly well. I get great sleep.

I eat foods that nourish my body, maintain a healthy guy, and support my goals.

Purpose

I am making time for health now so I don't have to make time for illness later.

I want the high levels of energy that come with peak health and fitness. I want to be around for a long time. I want to accomplish all the goals I have in life. I want to operate at the highest levels of energy. I am a beacon of light when it comes to physical fitness. I want to live gracefully. I want to support my family when needed. I want to enjoy my life to the fullest. I want all the energy and time to leave a legacy. I want the stamina to success in business.

I want more excuses to take my clothes off. 😉

Action

I'm currently wrapping up Day 4 of a 60 day intentional focus on digestion. I'm focusing on digestion moreso than any other part of health and fitness because a good digestive systsem means eliminating toxins, mental clarity, increased energy and stamina, regular and optimal bowel movemenets, proper absorption of nutrients, increased immune systsem, and overall increase in well-being.

I'm also on a 16-days through a 90 day fitness regimen. A HIIT program focused on supporting my spine and balanced/holistic approach to working out.

Tracking

I'm tracking my exercise with my Apple Watch for the moment. I'm happy with 30 minutes a day. I'm tracking other health markers including:

  • daily protein in-take (50-70g)
  • daily vitamin, Vit. D, Omega-3, Methylated Vit. B
  • Water (70oz)
  • daily Gluatimne
  • daily Digestive Enzymes
  • daily sauerkraut
  • daily probiotic
  • daily magnesium
  • sleep hrs & quality
  • bowel movements
  • energy (1-10)

Early observations

I'm consuming zero refined sugar and little to no sweetner (using monk fruit aka lakanto), no processed food - yup every single item I consume for the next 56 days will be made at home, tons of vegetables, foods high in fiber, the right mix of sodium and potassium, and lots of water.

Even in four short days I can feel my stomach, small intestine, and large intestine rejoicing!

One of the benefits I'm finding in the first four days is reduction in stress. Because the meals are planned out and the grocery list created I don't have to think. I know what to eat and when. I love that I don't have to ask: "what's for (fill in meal)?" ever. That is beautiful.

This is important. I'm grateful I can dedicate time to this.
