Saturday Spotlights: JetASAP, Storypod, and @DCinvΞstor

The Spotlight Saturday series is growing up so I'll now call it Saturday Spotlights and point a light on three ideas/things/finds from the week. Recently I've been highlighting makers and their products, but after connecting with a few readers of the blog I heard that one of the many things they wanted was more of these.

Service: JetASAP

Not every reader will care, but let me share an interesting data point I heard this week. 90,000 private flights are booked each month (haven't been able to confirm this). If you assume the average flight costs $25,000 that's $27 billion on private jet travel alone. But the process is wrought with friction, shadiness, and middlemen. And while pre-COVID the average net worth of an individual who flew private exceeded $10 million, COVID opened up a wider customer base as that number has decreased.

Enter JetASAP. A couple things to note. They are live and running. There is no booking fee.

Credit to Leigh Rowan (Savanti Travel) for sharing.

Product: Storypod

I met Daniel Buelhoff last year. We're both Venture Partners at NextGen Venture Partners. He took some time and shared with me his recent business, StoryPod. I find it to be a great way to entertain young children.

If you have young children and you want to check it out, here's a great video.

I've bookmarked this as a gift idea for the next birthday of a young child.

Person: @DCinvΞstor

If you've been following my writing since December you know that I've been studying the crypto space. I'm grateful for a number of people who have been helping in the last few months. No mastermind set up yet, but still plan to.

I recently listened to a podcast that had DCinvΞstor (aka Aftab Hossain). I found him thoughtful on the NFT space it really helped me breakdown what's been happening in the last few months and how to dig under the hood of crypto, ignore hype and see the potential. We happen to be in a time where it might be feeling like a bubble to many of you and it does to me as well. That being said, having seeing tech in '01 and having lived in it since '10 I can tell you that out of these bubbles comes real value. Much of the NFT is silly, but all great trends and movements feel like that in the beginning.

As I write more on this subject, I wanted to share a resource. Giving DCinvΞstor a follow on Twitter will be worth your while.
