The Independent Professional Triangle

Recently I got a DM from a prolific Twitter person.

For the most of the world there's no difference. Consultant, contractor, freelancer, advisor. People just pick the one that sounds the best to them, the one with the least stigma in their mind.

I put together my thinking over the last few days on how I see the space of the Independent Professional. I came up with a triangle framework that includes the role, the scope they are hired for, and the business model.

The Independent Professional Triangle

I think that over this coming decade this framework will evolve and gain a lot of traction. I also think that we will see more and more people adopt the title of Consultant as they better understand how lucrative it can be and how much time you can save yourself.

At least this is what my a bunch of really awesome people in Consulting Club think.

Hit me up on Twitter if you have thoughts on this. I'm sure I'll have plenty more in the coming years.
