I write. I wrote as a student and I've always written for work. I write emails and text messages daily.
Last year I decided to develop a writing practice. I read Andrew Chen's post on what he's learned about writing online, Ann Handley's Everyone Writes, Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way, and last year I took David Perrel's online writing course Write of Passage.
In Warren Bennis' On Becoming a Leader, he writes
Codifying one’s thinking is an important step in inventing oneself … Writing is the most profound way of codifying your thoughts, the best way of learning from yourself who you are what you believe.
I have found this true.
I enjoy writing and I gain a great deal of clarity through the process.
As I continue my practice over the coming decade I am writing for myself. I do hope that you as a reader will gain value from the work I share. You may return regularly, you may decide to sign up for my newsletter, and if you do I hope we will get to know one another.
